The Center for Teaching and Learning Development collaborated with Kobe University and The Kyushu Institute of Technology in organizing the International Study Group Project. The mission of the center, which is operated by the Office of Academic Affairs, is to enhance the students' international perspectives and foster cultural exchanges between Taiwan and Japan.

During a five-month period, students from NTU and Kobe University engaged in extensive discussions centered on the 2030 UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and various cross-cultural topics. These topics ranged from holidays and transportation to international relations. Angela Siu, a sophomore majoring in political science, asserted, "I gained insight into the uniqueness of cultures and discovered many cultural differences between Japan and Taiwan." Similarly, Emma Lin, a sophomore majoring in nursing at NTU, remarked that the experience provided her with a fresh perspective on Taiwan's international standing. She emphasized the importance of knowing and leveraging one's strengths and weaknesses to adapt to the rapidly evolving international landscape.

NTU students also engaged in a three-month dialogue with Kyushu Institute of Technology, delving into the origins of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and its far-reaching implications for various aspects of human life. The discussions explored how individuals should approach and respond to the challenges posed by AI.

Jennifer Hsu, a first-year master's student in statistics, reflected, "Upon examining the impact of AI across different sectors of society, many of us realized AI is everywhere. We must not only learn to harness this powerful tool but also remain vigilant about potential challenges." By fostering patience and open-mindedness in cross-cultural communication, the students successfully overcome language barriers and mutually benefited from the exchange of views and knowledge.

The International Study Group Project not only broadens students' horizons but also inspires them to actively be involved in international topics. This enriching exchange of perspectives and collaborative discussions leaves a profound impression and cherished memories on all the participating students.
