Prof. Andrew Jen-Guang Lin and Associate Professor Christopher Chao-hung Chen participated in the 3rd Asian Corporate Law Forum (ACLF), April 14–15, 2026, hosted by the Monash University Business School and Monash University Law School in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

During ACLF 2026, Prof. Chen presented his working paper (co-authored with Dr. Li-Wen Lin of the University of British Columbia) on "Directors as Geopolitical Risk in Corporate Governance." Drawing on recent developments involving Intel CEO Lip-Bu Tan and TikTok as examples, their paper examines how foreign directors may become a source of geopolitical risk amid rising geopolitical tensions and the associated legal risks. The paper argues that companies should conduct more comprehensive due diligence to better understand directors' backgrounds and the potential geopolitical implications of their appointments.

Additionally, both Professors Lin and Chen participated in panel discussions. Prof. Lin served as a panelist alongside leading scholars from Australia, South Korea, Japan, and Hong Kong in a session titled, "Corporations and Social Impact: An International Perspective." Prof. Chen also joined a panel on "Corporate Governance in an Era of Populism and Nationalism." Together, Professors Lin and Chen shared Taiwan's perspective on the development of corporate law and corporate governance in Asia.

The ACLF, co-sponsored by the European Corporate Governance Institute, was established in 2023 as a network for scholars specialized in corporate law, capital market regulation, and corporate governance across Asia. Its annual conference provides an significant platform for scholars to exchange ideas on shared challenges, advance the development of Asian corporate law scholarship, and foster research collaborations throughout the region. The NTU College of Law is a founding member of the ACLF, and its faculty have actively participated in the forum since its inception in 2023.
